How To Apply TVET Helb Loan In Kenya [2023]

Technical and vocational Education and Training is regulated by Technical and vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA). The authority licenses learning institutions, programs and trainers. Learners wishing to join TVET institutions, it’s important to join licensed institutions so that their certificate could be recognized. TVET HELB LOAN.

Learners pursuing certificate and higher national diploma courses in public universities and approved TVET colleges under ministry of Education, one is qualified for a loan and bursary. The interest rate of the loan is 4% and a ledger fees of ksh1000 per year. For learners wishing to apply for a TVET helb loan there are application requirements one will need .such as;

1. A copy of the applicant admission letter from the institution.

2. A copy of the national identification card. 

3. KCSE result slip of certificate.

4. Parents national id or death certificate where the parent is deceased.

5. Copies of both guarantees’ national id.

6. A copy of the applicant bank ATM or bank card.

7. One passport sized photo of the applicant.

Students learning in TVET institutions recognized by the Ministry of Education can apply for a TVET HELB LOAN and can do so by logging in to the student portal.

  • Visit HELD student portal
  • Log on to TVET loan application 
  • Print two forms of the filled loan application form 
  • Have the form stamped and signed by relevant authorities and guarantors 
  • Attach all the necessary documents as required in the checklist on the last page of the loan application form 
  • Present one copy of completed loan application form and all attached documents at any Huduma center in the country for free and secure delivery to HELB head office
  • Retain one copy of the completed loan application form.

HELB loan application is free, no payment should be done in the process

REPAYING TVET HELB LOAN

The TVET loan repayment begins within one year of completion of studies. However one can make partial payments before or after studies completion .This helps to reduce loan balance, the HELB loan is charged 4% p.a and repayment period of maximum 48 months.

  • Choose pay bill options 
  • Enter HELB business number 200800
  • Enter your national ID number as your account number
  • Enter amount you wish to pay
  • Enter your pin number 
  • Confirm transaction and send.
